About the Event
We all face challenging times in our lives, but it’s how we respond to them that can make a difference.
Resilience is being able to bounce back from difficult life events and not let them keep you down. Even with difficult life events, resilience allows us to gather the inner strength to keep going. The good news is that resilience is something that you can build.
This course will help you to:
- Recognise and understand your emotions better so that you can take charge of them instead of them controlling you.
- Gain practical skills to bounce back from tough situations and move through.
- Discover how living out of your ‘why’ helps you grow in resilience.
- Grow in your confidence to make tiny changes that make a big difference in your resilience journey.

Session 1 - Inside Out
Resilience gives people the strength to tackle problems head-on. As we begin our journey we start to develop greater awareness of, and compassion for, what we feel inside us – our emotions! It’s ok not to be ok but sometimes our emotions take centre stage and we just can’t function. In this session we introduce you to skills to accept what you can’t control so that you can confidently make choices to put you back in charge.
Session 2 - Who's The Boss
In this session we will practice and grow in confidence to use skills already gained to manage our thoughts and emotions rather than having them manage us.
Session 3 - Do Something
Distress, experiencing setback, grief and pain can see us default to making poor choices. Identifying our “why” helps us to make authentic decisions based on our core values. This session explores how values-based decision making helps us out of patterns of freeze or overwhelm, and practice the skills to confidently keep doing this.
Session 4 - Resiliently Walking My 'Why'
Now with extra tools in our Wellbeing Kete we can confidently identify and recognise the adjustments we can make to keep growing resilience and not living overwhelmed or stuck. Tiny changes make a big difference!
